The BFFCO Mission

The Building Families First Community Organization is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on breaking the cycle of poverty and creating opportunities for families to succeed financially in the long run.

 This organization is structured like other asset-development organizations, but it is the first of its kind when it comes to its approach. Unlike other organizations, they attack the whole problem of systematic poverty, not just a portion of it.

They provide comprehensive programs that help families build a solid financial foundation first, and then guide them through the rest of the life-building process. By providing educational courses, affordable housing opportunities, and a little assistance when it comes to childcare and financial planning, the BFFCO team is able to help families pave their own way towards success.

How You Can Get Involved

There are many different ways that you can make an impact with the Building Families First Community Organization, including:

• Making a one-time monetary donation
• Volunteering your time to renovate homes
• Participating in a “Revitalize Day” to raise funds

You can also join their Hammer Club. Members of the Hammer Club pledge to donate $25 or more each month, and 90 cents of every donated dollar will go towards funding the revitalization of the community. Your donations could help create affordable housing, provide childcare for work parents, and provide financial education to families for long-term success.
