What It All Began

Alternative Services Michigan, Inc. was founded as a non-profit organization more than 40 years ago. Since day one, this organization has been steadfast in their mission to give those with disabilities as much control over their own lives as possible.

Traditionally, those with disabilities are presented with two options: live-in, long-term care facilities or in-home care by a loved one. That is, until the foundation of this “specialized, barrier-free, group home” which goes above and beyond to provide those in need with more integrated options.

What started as a small, intimate project to change a few lives has now expanded to over 75 service sites and more than 300 consumers.
