2021 Trax vs 2021 HR-V – Exterior Dimensions

Size is important in compact crossover SUVs. Most crossover drivers want a vehicle that is easy to maneuver while still offering ample space inside; both of these models deliver. Crossover SUVs offer the perks of both ends in this way by being nimble enough for city streets and roomy enough for your passengers and cargo. However, there are some differences to note.

When it comes to exterior size, bigger isn’t always better—and this proves true when it comes to the Chevy Trax. This model measures a length of 167.2 inches and a wheelbase of 100.6 inches. These modest measurements allow you to fit into tight parking spaces better, limiting the need for long treks to find a larger spot.

Those parking the Honda HR-V might have a harder time finding a space where they can fit. While still compact for an SUV, its 170.4-inch length and 102.8-inch wheelbase might not fit into the closest spots.

Chevy Trax vs Honda HR-V – Interior Dimensions & Comfort

2021 Chevrolet Trax Interior CabinJust because the outside of these models is on the compact side, it doesn’t mean the inside isn’t spacious and cozy. You and your passengers deserve to have plenty of space to stretch out in. And though both the Trax and HR-V offer a lot of room for both the driver and passenger, there are some differences when it comes to headroom.

In the 2021 HR-V, you will find a front headroom of 39.5 inches and 38.3 inches in the back. However, those who are taller might want the extra space that comes in the Chevrolet Trax. In the front, you will receive slightly more room with 39.6 inches. The back also offers extra space, coming in at 38.8 inches.

Additionally, the Trax is available with a 6-way power driver seat in the LT trim, which is just one up from the base model, along with a leather-trimmed steering wheel. Although though the leather steering wheel is also available in the HR-V, a power driver’s seat is not available.

The extra headroom and power seat are both enough to make the Chevy Trax a great choice for drivers in search of comfort.

Chevy Trax vs Honda HR-V – Infotainment Technology

2021 Chevrolet Trax InfotainmentYour drive is made better with technology designed to keep both driver and passenger happy. These two crossover SUVs have features that will give you and your riders plenty to get excited about. A ride that is fun and accessible makes journeys something to get even more excited about.

The central infotainment system in the Trax and HR-V is controlled by 7-inch touchscreens. These are your hub to accessing sound systems, temperature control, and the convenient features of Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ technology. When you connect your phone through these services, you can safely access your messages, maps, music, calls, and more while maintaining focus on the road ahead.

This touchscreen comes standard on the Chevy Trax, but is not available on all models of the HR-V. Unfortunately, you may have to do without this convenient feature in the HR-V.

Drivers and passengers looking to stay connected will love the included 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot in the Chevy Trax. Back seat passengers can stream their favorite shows, and you can access your important cloud files and emails.

This added convenience will make your trips better thanks to easy internet access. The 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot is standard on the Chevy Trax and not found in any trim of the Honda HR-V.

Both of these SUVs include Bluetooth® hands-free audio streaming to let you surround yourself with your favorite playlist. In the base trims of each vehicle, you’ll find a noticeable difference. The HR-V comes equipped with a standard 4-speaker audio system, while the Trax gives you more to love with six speakers.

Staying safe and secure out on the road is always an important priority for drivers, and these crossover SUVs pack plenty of ways to keep you covered in life’s unexpected events. Both the Trax and HR-V come with rear-vision cameras to keep an eye on what’s behind you. The Chevy Trax, though, has extra available features to make you even more aware of what’s behind you.

The Trax has an available Side Blind Zone Alert system to warn you when a vehicle enters your blind spot. When these indicators turn on, you’ll know that there’s traffic just out of view and that lane changing should wait until the area is clear.

The available Rear Cross Traffic Alert gives you a warning when you’re in reverse and another vehicle is approaching. You can back out of parking spaces confidently when this system is engaged. The Chevy Trax also has available Rear Park Assist, giving you audio cues as you approach objects.
