Chevy Traverse Performance

The 2021 Traverse has a 3.6L V6 engine that generates 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. This works with a 9-speed automatic transmission. This engine is never short on power, and the transmission delivers smooth, timely shifts. It also comes with stop/start technology, which is a helpful feature to conserve fuel.

With its absorbent suspension, the Traverse soaks up road imperfections for passenger comfort and a smooth ride. In spite of its size, the Traverse handles well and exhibits minimal body roll on tight turns and curves. This is all supported by strong, reliable brakes. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional. When properly equipped, the Traverse can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

Chevy Traverse Cabin Comfort and Quality

With three rows of seats, the 2021 Chevy Traverse has space for eight people. A second-row bench seat comes standard, but if you prefer, you can select a pair of second-row captain’s chairs instead. They still give you seating for seven, but add a convenitient center aisle.

Passengers enjoy ample headroom and legroom throughout, and it’s easy to get in and out of the Traverse without a struggle. Cloth seats and three-zone automatic climate control are standard. Optional features include a heated steering wheel, heated seats, ventilated front seats, and supple leather upholstery.

With the seats up, the Traverse has 23 cubic feet of cargo room. With the third row folded flat, space opens to 57.8 cubic feet of cargo space. The maximum cargo capacity with both the second and third rows folded is 98.2 cubic feet of space. The cabin also has plenty of small storage spaces as well. A hands-free power liftgate is available to open the back with just a swipe of your foot while your hands are full.

The 2021 Traverse has a standard 7-inch touchscreen that features the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. It boasts logical menu layouts, a crisp touch screen, and a combination of touch inputs and knobs and buttons for audio and climate control.

Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration are standard, so you can sync your phone to listen to music or access calls and texts on the ride. A built-in Wi-Fi hotspot is also standard, ensuring you have connectivity virtually anywhere. Optional upgrades include an 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, a Bose premium sound system, and a rear-seat entertainment system to keep the kids busy.

Several safety features come standard for the Traverse, including a Rear Seat Reminder that warns you if you’ve left a child or pet in the back. Plenty of advanced safety features are available to prevent collisions from the front, back, and sides, such as Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Land Departure Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking.
